The grocer will create about 250 jobs at its newest location while continuing to hire as part of a broader Northeast expansion.
Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace has officially set an opening date for its highly anticipated Greenvale location.
The locally owned specialty grocer announced this week that its newest market at Wheatley Plaza will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, Aug. 14, with an 11 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new store is expected to create approximately 250 jobs and represents another milestone in the company’s continued growth across the Northeast.
While the Greenvale location prepares to welcome its first customers, Uncle Giuseppe’s is continuing to hire.
The company is holding speed-hiring open interviews every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its hiring trailer, located at 130 Wheatley Plaza. Applicants are encouraged to bring a resume and be prepared for an on-the-spot interview.
Looking beyond Greenvale, Uncle Giuseppe’s said it plans to add 1,000 team members over the next 12 months as it continues its expansion and fills open positions throughout the company.
Greenvale will become Uncle Giuseppe’s 13th location. The company traces its roots to a family produce business before opening its first Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace in East Meadow in 2001.
Over the past 25 years, it has built a loyal following by combining the feel of a traditional Italian specialty market with a full-service grocery store, offering everything from fresh mozzarella and handmade pasta to in-house bakeries, butcher shops and prepared foods.
Greater Long Island previously reported that the Greenvale market is one of the company’s largest to date and represents another step in an ambitious growth strategy that includes additional stores already planned, including a future location in Bohemia.
