Babylon’s Argyle Theatre is rounding the corner on its final production of the 2024-25 season.
The Broadway-caliber playhouse will close out the season with Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man,” the six-time Tony Award-winning musical comedy.
If you’re not familiar, here’s a synopsis: The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.
This marks the final production at The Argyle since completing a multi-million-dollar renovation. The upgrades include a fully revamped exterior, a stylish new lobby bar, and other enhancements designed to elevate the audience experience. Click here to read more.
“We’re proud to see our long-time patrons coming back time after time, as well as welcome new patrons from across Long Island and beyond,” said Dylan Perlman, co-owner of Argyle Theatre. “We appreciate the continued support of our community, our team, our sponsors, and look forward to continue our mission of bringing Broadway to Babylon.”
