The Tartaglia brothers of Bay Shore are further expanding their Main Street footprint.
Anthony and Andrew Tartaglia — the minds behind Verde Kitchen & Cocktails, Coastal Kitchen & Daiquiri Bar, and The Brightwaters Inn — announced on Facebook they will soon enough be debuting Sweet Jane at 64 East Main Street.
Gin, bourbon, whiskey, mezcal, you name it — Sweet Jane will have it, they say.
“It’s going to be a really cool … classic cocktails, high-end cocktails, some new stuff, and old stuff,” Anthony said.
Think of a NYC-style cocktail and wine bar.
The name of the bar is a nod to a Lou Reed song, said Anthony, who is a classic rock fan.
Sweet Jane isn’t going to be a typical “gin-joint,” the brothers plan on keeping it classy, they said.
Although cocktail-focused, there will be a small kitchen serving elevated food to pair with the drinks, as well as a beer and wine program for patrons.
Anthony said they want to take their time working on the new space, which was previously occupied by a thrift shop.
So expect about a 2022 or 2023 launch for Sweet Jane, they said.
The Tartaglia brothers have teamed with James Howell, Joe Sileo, John Dell’orto, Joe Mele for this venture.
“Bay Shore is a growing town, there is a lot of cool stuff on the horizon, there’s new apartments, new buildings, new businesses, there’s a lot of people moving out of the city,” he said. “Main Street’s been bustling, it’s good to be a part of a nice downtown.”
