Virgola Oysters & Italian Wine Bar hosts ribbon-cutting ceremony

|

There were plenty of cheers and toasts at the grand opening ceremony of Virgola Oysters & Italian Wine Bar in Patchogue.

Virgola, which specializes in Italian wine, oysters, crudo, caviar and ceviche, opened at 7 Village Green over the summer.

To celebrate, the restaurant held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday night, which grew a large crowd.

Among the attendees was Patchogue’s mayor, Paul Pontieri, who was in awe of Virgola’s atmosphere.

“This place has so much class,” he said. “We are very fortunate to have them.”

During the ceremony,  David Kennedy of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce also welcomed the new business.

“It’s such a beautiful place,” said Kennedy. “It has such an amazing vibe and what a great addition [to Patchogue.]”

Before he cut the ribbon, Virgola’s owner Roy Cifuni of Mount Sinai pointed out a key to his success.

“Without our staff, we wouldn’t be where we are now,” he said. “I want to thank Patchogue for embracing us.”
