‘Voice’ winner performs at local dance recital at Bald Hill amphitheater

|

It was a recital to remember for these young dancers at Marchand’s School of Dance.

The Miller Place dance school’s recital kicked off with a live performance by Carter Rubin, the winner of the 19th season of NBC’s “The Voice.”

Carter, a Shoreham native, promised the school earlier this year he would sing for them after he visited the school this winter.

He kept his word.

The recital was held July 13 at Long Island Community Hospital Amphitheater at Bald Hill in Farmingville.

Carter sang “Rainbow Connection” in front of the crowd while the school performed behind him. (Watch the performance below.)

“Carter has a special talent that made everyone in the audience and on stage feel connected,” said Marge Marchand, owner of Marchand’s School of Dance. “We thank him for joining us for our 45th annual celebration of family and dance.”
