Crowds flocked to Tiana Beach in Hampton Bays on Thursday to watch release of four rescued and rehabbed sea turtles back to the ocean.
Three of the turtles were rescued last year during what’s called the cold-stun season in the late fall. Another turtle, affectionately named Black Bear, ended up stranded last summer and brought to NY Marine Rescue Center in Riverhead for rehabilitation.
The organization held a release party at the beach at 6 p.m.
GLI videographer and photographer Christopher Scott, also of Nomadic Friend Productions, was on the scene to capture the magical moment. Watch it below.
