We flew with the Golden Knights at the 2024 Air Show at Jones Beach; here’s our photos

The 20th annual Jones Beach Air Show kicked off on this sun-splashed Friday, and Greater Long Island was there to capture the day.

The GLI team got the opportunity to fly with the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights, a team led by East Islip’s very own Sergeant First Class Ryan O’Rourke. Scroll down for photos.

“This show is always awesome,” said O’Rourke, who has served in the Army for the last 18 years, six with the parachute team. “It’s really special to be here on the 20th anniversary.”

This year’s show, headlined by the United States Navy Blue Angels, will run the entire weekend, on Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26, 2024. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both dates.

The full lineup is:

  • U.S. Navy Blue Angels
  • United States Army Golden Knights
  • A-10C Thunderbolt II Demo Team
  • US Navy F-35C Demo Team
  • Mike Goulian
  • David Windmiller
  • Farmingdale State College Aviation
  • Skytypers
  • Warbird Thunder Airshows
  • American Airpower Museum Warbirds

Bethpage Federal Credit Union sponsors the annual air show. This will mark the Blue Angels’ 10th appearance as headliners. Last year, over 350,000 people attended the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach over three days. The 2020 show was canceled due to the pandemic.

On Thursday, May 23, GLI also took photos during the Blue Angels’ practice. You can see them below as well. (More will be coming soon.)
