‘We will not stop’: Family of missing Patchogue girl Emmarae Gervasi pleads for help

|

It’s now been 10 days since 14-year-old Emmarae Gervasi stepped out of her Patchogue home barefoot and disappeared on a rainy Monday evening.

The case of the missing teen continues to drain on the emotions of her friends and family, whose search for her grows seemingly desperate by the hour. A family friend mentioned an arrest over the weekend that may be related to Emmarae’s disappearance, but Suffolk police have only said that the girl remains missing.

Frank Gervasi, who has posted a $15,000 reward for his daughter’s safe return home, continues to spread the word about his missing daughter on social media.

The search continues

“We are still looking for Emma and will not stop till she is found,” Gervasi said in a Facebook post that implored others to share posts regarding her Dec. 9 disappearance.

Gervasi and other relatives and friends have also been hitting the pavement, checking local motels and hotels, and knocking on doors in what has continues to be a round-the-clock search.

Gabby Petito Foundation gets involved

The Facebook page, Gabby – Find the Missing, shared news of Emmarae’s missing persons case to its broad base of 205,000 followers.

“(She) has a tattoo on the back of her neck 222, and on one of her arms of a rose,” reads a post on the Gabby — Find the Missing page, which was created by the family of Gabby Petito, a young Blue Point woman who went missing in August 2021, and was ultimately found murdered by the boyfriend she was traveling with.

Suffolk County Police have confirmed that Emmarae has been missing since 5 p.m. on Monday. She was last seen on Terrell Street in East Patchogue, going into a blue Honda, family said.

Emmarae is 5-foot-4 and weighs about 140 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black stretch pants.

Teen went missing before

In May, while staying at Newport Academy, a residential teen treatment center in St. Cloud, Minnesota, went missing for three days before authorities found her safe. Her family said she ran away from the facility.

Additionally, her family said that in recent months, Emmarae has been very happy and excited for the upcoming holidays, which has heightened her family’s fear for her safety.
