West Babylon Girl Scout renovating dog park to earn Gold Award

|

A West Babylon Girl Scout is working hard to earn her Gold Award this year by dedicating her free time cleaning up a Babylon Village dog park on Locust Avenue.

Lauren Limongelli noticed the park could use some sprucing up. That’s when she reached out to Babylon Village Trustee Mary Adams to see if should could revamp the park.

Adams immediately said yes.

“We try to work with Girl and Boy Scouts,” Adams told GreaterBabylon. “Their projects benefit everybody in the community.”

Since her proposal, the Girl Scout has been working tirelessly with fundraisers to get the project completed within the next couple of months.

Babylon’s other dog park, located at Tanner Park, was also separately renovated in 2019.
