West Babylon students selling memory shamrocks for St. Baldrick’s

|

Note: A previous headline incorrectly indicated it was just one student raising money, but it’s a group.

These West Babylon students are taking up the fight against cancer, one shamrock at a time.

The West Babylon Junior High School student council is once again selling its”memory shamrocks” for $1.

“Purchasers are invited to write a name in memory of a loved one, to support a person, or just help raise money for the team,” reads a statement from the school district.

Proceeds go to support the Bald Eagles of West Babylon’s St. Baldrick’s page.

Last year, the junior high school raised over $600 for the foundation. In keeping with the St. Baldrick’s tradition, the Bald Eagles will be getting their heads buzzed at Lily Flanagan’s in Babylon March 25.
