A 15‑year‑old boy was stabbed and killed Monday night during a large house party at the corner of Carlton Road and Avenue C in West Babylon.
Suffolk Police said that at about 10:25 p.m. between 90 and 100 teenagers were attending a party outside the home at 813 Carlton Road when a fight erupted.
The victim, identified as Liam Delemo, 15, of West Babylon, was stabbed during the altercation.
Delemo was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives have not yet arrested anyone involved in the stabbing, but the homeowner, Bonnie Miranda, 70, was charged with violating Suffolk County’s social host law and endangering the welfare of a child (pertaining to Liam Delemo), police said.
Homeowner who has been charged has a relative on the West Babylon football team
Miranda, allowed her grandchild to have a party at the home, police said. A real estate salesperson, Miranda has at least one grandchild in West Babylon schools, according to her Facebook account.
Liam’s mother Hope Wisun-Delemo shared a heartbreaking Facebook post that included a photo of her son, who would have turned 16 later this month.
“I will love you forever my baby💔,” posted Wilsun-Delemo, a teacher in the Brentwood School District.
Many teens were out late on Tuesday because schools are closed Tuesday for Election Day.
Police asked anyone with information to call the department’s Homicide Squad at 631.852.6392.
