The West Islip community turned out in force over the weekend to celebrate Homecoming 2025, blanketing the streets and filling stands with blue and gold pride.
Festivities kicked off Saturday morning at Westbrook Elementary School, where students, staff, families and other locals gathered for the homecoming parade.
Students from every grade level — including youth cheerleaders and football players — marched down Higbie Lane, with high school classes showing off their decorated posters.
West Islip High School’s marching band led the procession down with a lively performance, while members of the homecoming court waved to the cheering crowd.

At the high school, fans packed the bleachers for the varsity football team’s game against Rocky Point. The Lions pulled off a dramatic 14-7 victory — the winning touchdown pass came with just 26 seconds remaining.
The win marked the 100th career victory for head coach Steve Mileti.
Halftime entertainment featured performances by the marching band and color guard, kickline team and varsity cheerleaders.
