Suffolk Police arrested a Setauket teen for drunk driving after a single-car crash on the Long Island Expressway seriously injured her passenger early Friday.
Olibia Perez-Bonilla, 18, was driving a 2003 Honda Accord on the eastbound side of the LIE between Exits 61 and 62 in Holbrook when her vehicle hit the center median and then the barrier on the right side of the road at 12:22 a.m., police said.
An ambulance took Perez-Bonilla’s passenger, 19-year-old Kayla Lopez of Stony Brook, to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. Perez-Bonilla went to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

She is charged with driving while intoxicated and will be arraigned in Suffolk County District court in Central Islip at a later date.
