Sayville biker, 39, killed in Bohemia crash

A Sayville motorcyclist died Wednesday morning after his bike was struck by an SUV making a left turn in Bohemia, police said.

Daniel Javurek, 39, was riding a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle north on Lakeland Avenue when a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder driven collided with him at about 7:50 a.m., cops said.

Nicole Melfi, 41, of Bohemia, was making a left turn from the westbound side of Peter Lane to southbound Lakeland Avenue when the crash occurred.

Javurek was rushed by ambulance to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk, where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities. Melfi was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded.
