West Islip native advances to live shows on ‘The Voice’

|

West Islip’s Bella DeNapoli has been killing it on TV singing competition “The Voice.”

The 22-year-old has impressed the judges and has advanced all the way to the live shows. The first live show airs tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC.

DeNapoli is a member of pop singer Ariana Grande’s team.

DeNapoli and the other 20 finalists have made it through the first three rounds of the show — The Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, and Knockouts — and are now the top artists performing for the winning title of “The Voice.”

Here’s how it works

These singers perform weekly against each other during the live broadcast and the TV audience votes for their favorite artists.

Those with the highest number of votes move onto the next round, while the performers with the lowest amount votes are sent home.

However, singers with the lowest number of votes are allowed an “Instant Save” to perform a new song as a last-ditch effort to prove they should continue in the competition.

America then has the opportunity to save a performer by voting on either “The Voice” official app or on NBC.com.

At the end of the competition, there are three finalists and the winner of “The Voice” is awarded a recording contract.

“The Voice” airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC. Download the “The Voice” official app to vote for DeNapoli or vote on NBC.com.
