Dylan Laube wasted no time making an impact in his second NFL season.
The Westhampton Beach native and Las Vegas Raiders running back scored his first NFL touchdown in Thursday night’s preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks — a six-yard catch from quarterback Aidan O’Connell in the third quarter.
Laube, a 2024 sixth-round pick out of the University of New Hampshire, finished the game with five carries for 34 yards and that lone reception for the score.
“It’s a totally different mindset now,” Laube told Greater Long Island earlier this summer when reflecting on his rookie season. “I’m so much more comfortable now.”

That comfort showed on Thursday. Laube’s rookie year had its early struggles — including a fumble on his very first regular-season carry — but he bounced back to become a key contributor on special teams down the stretch. Now, he’s aiming to build on that momentum.
Laube wasn’t the only Long Islander to shine for Vegas in the 23-23 tie. Chris Collier, a fellow second-year running back from Lawrence, led the Raiders in rushing with nine carries for 42 yards.
