UPDATE:

• East Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Ocean to Maple avenues, starting at 4 p.m., and will remain closed until 9 p.m.

• The main idea is to get people out shopping and having fun. So while this event carries the Alive After Five name, there’s no outdoor drinking pens or vendors. All the partying and shopping will be happening indoors. Many of the restaurants will have live music.

• The Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, which is organizing the event, has secured bounce houses, face painters and a huge novelty snow globe attraction that also serves as a photo booth. And, there will be a Polar Express-style trackless train for kids, among other attractions.

• Mediterranean Manor will be donating ice sculptures and its wedding carriage will be used to transport Santa Claus through the streets. Santa will also be available for family photos outside Sensationally Sweet at 18 East Main Street all night.

Food Done It? edible mystery tours will be hosting free marshmallow roasting in the middle of Main Street, where revelers could also get a special card to participate in the retail scavenger hunt with a chance to win hundreds of dollars’ worth of prizes from the local shops.

• Select bars will be debuting Blue Point Brewing Company’s much-anticipated new India pale ale, called The IPA. Scroll down for a list of the restaurants and the times the beer will be available.

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is hosting live entertainment throughout the entire night outside the theater at 71 East Main Street.

• There will be no ice rink, which had been widely reported this fall, though the chamber isn’t giving up on its ice rink plans for next year.

• Local Burger Co. is using winter’s Alive After Five as an excuse to kick off its late-night weekend hours and Midnight Munchies menu. Local Burger will be open until 2 a.m. Click here for more.

• Fry Daddy’s is now open on South Ocean Avenue and its the new eatery’s first festival in Patchogue. To celebrate, Fry Daddy’s is offering three free deep-fried Oreo’s if you purchase six. There are also three IPA’s on tap.
