An online toy shop for kids has found a home in the heart of Babylon Village.
The three moms who founded Argyle Toys are getting set to open a storefront at 10 Grove Place.
Madeline Lunz, Teresa Striker and Amber McCullough are just waiting on final approvals from the village, with an opening date to be determined.
As Babylon Village moms, they say, they built Argyle Toys from the idea that a toy store brings a special kind of magic to the town. Argyle Toys focuses on finding and selling non-battery operated toys based on age range, interest and affordability.
Their sensory toy section is already becoming popular online, and they carry items from the latest toy trends such as popper fidgets.
People can also shop for baby teethers, children’s books, wooden toys, and DIY kits such as one for a slow-rising squishy kit currently on sale on their website.
The online store will still be up once the physical location opens and free local delivery is offered to those within 10 miles of Babylon, they say.
Right now, the owners are doing a giveaway of a toy basket worth over $200 on their Instagram, just to give people a taste of what’s to come.
With unique backgrounds and children ranging in age and needs, they told greaterbabylon.com, it became important to create a physical space that features affordable, high-quality toys that teach, stimulate and entertain as well as provide access to specialty toys that will grow as our children grow.
There was a Babylon Village Planning Board meeting this month, at which the owners said they plan to operate Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
