Work is underway on a new Nordstrom Rack in Bay Shore

|

Nordstrom Rack is about to make its triumphant return to Suffolk County after more than a three-year hiatus.

The buildout is now underway for Nordstrom’s popular discount outlet, which is taking shape within the old Staples spot at Gardiner Manor Mall in Bay Shore.

The company is looking to open the new location sometime this spring.

“We look forward to opening this new Nordstrom Rack location in Bay Shore, strengthening our network of stores and introducing new customers to Nordstrom Rack’s unique product offering,” said Carl Jenkins of Nordstrom Rack Stores. “In addition to shopping great brands at great prices, our customers in Bay Shore can take full advantage of this convenient new location to pick-up online orders and make returns.”

As of now, Suffolk’s closest Nordstrom Rack, the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., is Garden City. The only actual Nordstrom store on the island is at Roosevelt Field Mall.

The Nordstrom Rack in Huntington Station that was adjacent to Walt Whitman Mall closed in the spring of 2021.

The Bay Shore store will measure 24,000 square feet and join other retailers such as HomeGoods, Barnes & Noble, Michaels and Old Navy.

Gardiner Manor Mall is owned and managed by Kite Realty Group Trust and is located just south of Sunrise Highway and just east of the Robert Moses Causeway.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nordstrom Rack to Gardiner Manor,” said Gregory Goldberg, a representative of Kite Realty Group Trust. “The highly sought-after brand and its high-quality offerings will be a perfect addition to the center’s attractive merchandising mix.”

No exact opening date was provided.
