Face painting, bouncy houses and family Zumba are just some of the activities in store for the YMCA of Long Island’s annual Healthy Kids Day across the island.
That day is planned for Saturday, April 21, at the following YMCA locations: Great South Bay (Bay Shore), Patchogue, East Hampton, Glen Cove, and Huntington.
The free event, which is sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union, is filled with a packed schedule for parents and their kiddies.
“Participants will learn about fun ways to stay active and healthy with fun activities, games, sports, arts and crafts, family fitness, workshops, and so much more,” said a YMCA spokesperson.

In addition to family fun, one thing that will be the same at each location is PSEG will be on hand teaching kids how to make power from a lemon.
Another portion of the day is dedicated to the YMCA’s Five Days of Actions campaign, which is an initiative that focuses on child abuse prevention.
