Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse has just wrapped up its first weekend of 2018 in Bellport.
This is the 10th season for what’s been named one of the best haunted house attractions in the country. The Haunted Playhouse is open from Sept. 28 through Nov. 3 on the playhouse’s grounds at 215 South Country Road.
In 2016, Buzzfeed listed Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse among the top 25 in America. USA Today listed The Gateway among its Top 10 in New York (the only Long Island haunted house to make the list.)
“Dozens of professionally trained actors prepare and rehearse each character that inhabits the haunt, giving it a unique, theatrical quality unrivaled on the island,” reads a Gateway announcement. “These actors inhabit a carefully crafted, three-dimensional environment created and built by the Gateway’s renowned design and production team. Over 100 people are on hand every evening to ensure the smooth operation of each haunt.
“Each year, a new theme, path and characters are created, giving patrons a brand new experience as they explore the walk though attraction.”
Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse is not recommended for children under 13 years old.
