Weather should clear for Patchogue’s planned Fall Festival on Saturday

|

Despite the damp weather, Patchogue’s Fall Festival is still a go for Saturday on Main Street.

That’s according to the organizers, the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.

“Likely we will have rain early tomorrow morning, but looks that all will clear by noon,” said the chamber’s executive director, David Kennedy. “As of now we are good to go, but we may go for a delayed start just to ensure vendors are not setting up in the rain. The festival ends at 5 p.m. no matter what time we start.”

The original plan was to start at 11 a.m.

The day will include a petting zoo, pony rides, pumpkin decorating, face painting and vendors. A costume parade for children (12 and under) will begin at 2 p.m. at Capital One Plaza and march west along Main Street.

There will also be live music by The Brother Pluckers and The Frankel Sisters. Patchogue-Medford Library will be hosting free pumpkin painting outside the Carnegie Library on West Main Street. The Patchogue Fire Department will be hosting children’s activities as well.

The 5th annual chili and chowder tasting contest will also take place in conjunction with the festival. Look for the Chamber of Commerce booth for tickets to try house chili and chowders at participating restaurants, then cast your votes for the best.

The rain date is Saturday, Oct. 20.
