The clouds and rain cleared just in time for Saturday’s annual Fall Festival in downtown Patchogue.
The family friendly event included a petting zoo, pony rides, pumpkin decorating, face painting and plenty of vendors and food trucks.
The Frankel Sisters performed near PeraBell Food Bar, with the Brother Pluckers setting up outside the BrickHouse Brewery.
The day (20 photos below) also featured the 5th annual chili and chowder tasting contest.
Update: The winners were announced Monday. They are as follows:
CHILI CONTEST
Returning Champion Brickhouse Brewery wins again with their Short Rib Chili w/ Avocado & Cilantro Sour Cream, receiving 28 votes.
Coming in a close second was That Meetball Place and their Barbecue Beef Chili, receiving 23 votes.
Right behind in 3rd came Public House 49 and their Chicken Sausage Chili, receiving 21 votes.
Honorable mentions are the Chili Entries by Catch Oyster Bar & Fulton’s Gate Irish Pub, which rounded out the top five respectively. There were 13 chili entries total.
CHOWDER CONTEST
Public House 49 is the new champ, with their Seafood Chowder Fries, receiving 39 votes.
Last year’s champ, Catch Oyster Bar, came in a very close second with their Lobster Corn Chowder, receiving 35 votes.
In third place was Perabell Food Bar with their Local Long Island Seafood Corn Chowder, receiving 27 votes.
Honorable mentions rounding out top five were chowders from Brickhouse Brewery & Fulton’s Gate Irish Pub. There were nine chowder entries this year.
