Parking stickers for the new year in Patchogue are available in Village Hall — and the stickers are free for village residents.
The circular passes are yellow for 2019. But there’s one big change to know about.
This year, the stickers go on the inside of the car.
“People were actually stealing them,” village clerk Patti Seal said of the old stickers, which were placed on the outside.
Non-residents can also obtain white stickers (pictured) that allow them to park at the Long Island Rail Road station. The non-resident fee is $150 for the year, pro rated per month.
The village resident stickers allow for free parking in all municipal lots with a valid sticker, with the exception of on-street metered parking, which includes Main Street, South Ocean, Railroad and Havens avenues.
Residents must show proof of their address at the village clerk’s office and fill out a form. A car registration is required, but if it does not show a village address an additional piece of first class mail will be needed as well.
