After more than three decades of regular performances in Greenport Village, the players of Northeast Stage are bringing Shakespeare in the Park to Patchogue for a free event Sunday.
Northeast Stage will be performing As You Like It at 7 p.m. at the Bandshell in Shorefront Park.
This show follows the Aug. 3, 5, and 6 performances in Greenport Village.
As You Like It, a comedy, will include music, songs, dancing and some wrestling, according to Amie Sponza, the Northeast Stage group’s president.
The play will be performed just this one time in Patchogue Village.
“We have been performing in Greenport for over 30 years, and outdoors in Mitchell Park [in Greenport] for almost two decades,” Sponza told greaterpatchogue.com in February.
“This is the first time we will expand our reach outside of Southold Town.”
