15 Photos: Smithtown Fire Department’s 42nd annual Christmas Parade

|

Lights, sirens and holiday cheer descended upon Smithtown for four hours Saturday night, as the community enjoyed the Smithtown Fire Department’s 42nd annual Christmas Parade.

This year’s event was dedicated to the memory of Charles E.H. Lauber Jr., who lost his life in the line of duty in 2000.

The four-hour procession made stops at Redwood Lane, Meat Farms and Smithtown High School West, where spectators were encouraged to donate non-perishable food and toys. The stops became great photo ops for kids, their families and even some of the firefighters who wanted pictures with Santa Claus, the Grinch and other characters.

GreaterSmithtown was at the parade to see the lights — and the smiles — shine bright. Scroll through the photos below, and be sure to click on the numbered boxes to see them all.
