20 Photos: Scenes from the 2021 Babylon Fall Harvest Festival

|

The bouncy houses, live music and carnival food on Deer Park Avenue Saturday could only mean one thing: the fall harvest festival is back.

The Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce hosted the 28th annual fall harvest festival Saturday. Several hundred people strolled north and south for four blocks of the thoroughfare from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Bands played stages at either end of the strip and crowds more than 100 strong amassed to watch children’s dance groups from the Royal Dance Center and Positions Dance Studio perform.

Eve Bloodnick performed with her Royal Dance Center peers to a crowd of more than 100 strong. Afterward, the four-year-old visited the chickens and the goats the petting zoo set up on Deer Park Avenue and enjoyed a pony ride.

When asked if she had fun with the animals, she could only widen her blue eyes and nod her head. She was busy eating from the warm bag of popcorn she held in her hands.

Food, clothing and collectable vendors set up shop at trucks and tents, or simply brought their business outside their storefront. Action figures, ice cream, fried pickles and balloon animals were among the most popular choices.

Children played on five different inflatable attractions, including a bouncy castle, a slide, two different games and an obstacle course.

Valerie Lennon said she enjoyed the food and the dance performances, but it was the bouncing fun that reigned supreme, and it would seem the jumping children agreed.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Lennon, 45, of Babylon, said while waiting for her 6-year-old son Grayson to enter the obstacle course.

“It’s nice because it brings all the kids together.”
