More than 700 people waited in line Saturday afternoon for a chance to attend the Angels of Long Island’s first-ever Easter egg hunt in Hagerman Park in East Patchogue.

The families were asked to donate $10 for the fundraiser, which also featured cakes and snacks and special children’s character appearances.
The Long Island Angels’ Facebook group has over 26,000 members, who rally to help whenever the group’s founders, Debbie Loesch and her daughter Brittany, learn of a family in need.
Debbie Loesch, who lives in Bellport, said she was “blown away” by Saturday’s headcount.
