The Brewers Collective Beer Company in Bay Shore is getting set to host a monthly original music and open mic night series headlined by female musicians from Long Island.
The Ladybeast Collective starts Saturday, July 22, and runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the tasting room, located at 1460 North Clinton Avenue.
The first installment will feature artists Christine Sweeney and Rorie Kelly, and will be followed by an open mic night for all performers.
“Show off your musicianship, songwriting, juggling skills, whatever!” reads a press announcement from the Brewers Collective about the new concert series.
Two original female musicians will perform each month.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Christine Sweeney is a hooky singer/songwriter with a strong blues influence and serious guitar and vocal chops.
Christine was recently selected to perform on the Emerging Artists Stage at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, and is about to release a brand new acoustic EP to follow up her excellent full band album Lune et Lumiere. Fans of KT Tunstall, Rilo Kiley and John Mayer will love Christine’s vibe.
Rorie Kelly (pictured above) coined the term “ladybeast” to capture what it means to be a powerful, unique and unapologetic female musician.
Her music focuses on topics from social justice to relationships to personal empowerment, and she works through these issues with a soaring vocal style and raw, honest lyrics. Fans of Alanis and Sarah Bareilles will dig Rorie’s catchy-confessional brand of pop-rock songwriting.
