Twenty-three Massapequa High School seniors have committed to continuing their athletic careers at Division I and II college teams next school year.
The athletes, who represent a variety of varsity teams, were honored last month during a special signing ceremony held at the high school. They’re set to compete at universities and colleges — both local and from the around the country.
The event, hosted by the district, celebrated the students’ achievements both on and off the field. Physical education and athletics Chairperson Brian Rath commended the athletes and their families, while Interim Athletics Director Martin Voigt encouraged them to bring pride and sportsmanship to their college teams.

A second ceremony is planned for the spring to honor more Massapequa athletes who will continue their sports careers in college.
