30 photos: Babylon Chamber hosts safe Halloween event throughout village

|

Goblins and ghouls gathered in Babylon Village this weekend for a candy hunt.

The Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual safe Halloween trick-or-treat event along Deer Park Avenue and Main Street on Saturday saw scores of young trick-or-treaters receive candy and other goodies, such as stickers and arts and crafts kits, from employees standing outside of storefronts.

Some families wore group-themed costumes from such popular franchises as Ghostbusters, Minions, Star Wars and Marvel, while others paraded the streets in their spooky best, with many witches and werewolves on the prowl.

“It’s awesome that they put these events together for the kids,” said Bryan Lopalo, whose four children dressed as a pumpkin, a landscaper and a pair of skeletons. “You can just feel the small town Long Island community come together. It’s really cool.”
