Aside from death or bodily injury, there’s not much worse than learning your train to Babylon or Ronkonkoma is delayed out of Penn Station.
The people at Blue Point Brewing Company in Patchogue are looking to help turn a negative into a positive.
It’s on those occasions, they suggest, you treat yourself to a couple tallboys of Blue Point’s brand-new Delayed Pilsner.
The beer is being offered exclusively inside Penn Station, and “it’s a beer specifically brewed to help you get through an otherwise miserable EOD surprise,” reads a press announcement.
Delayed Pilsner will be available next week.
“Myself, our brewers and our employees have spent a lot of time ‘delayed’ in Penn Station waiting for the train back to Long Island, albeit with a beer happily in hand,” said Blue Point president Todd Ahsmann. “Since the delays are expected to increase during construction, we figured we would brew a beer perfect for that extended wait.”
If you’re in the city on Aug. 14, there will be a release party at Shake Shack from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Ahsmann said Delayed “has just the right amount of drinkability with a touch of bitterness. This beer should hold you over while you wait for the train but provide just enough bite to keep you critical of current state of transit.”
