Island to Table: Stephanie Ozegovich’s elegant take on the classic S’more

Local chefs will be preparing food from Long Island’s land and waters for the annual Island to Table fundraiser, a six-course outdoor dining experience July 30 in Patchogue Village.

About: Stephanie is a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan and a former pastry chef at Tellers, An American Chophouse in Islip. She is currently the creative assistant at Roast Coffee and Tea Trading Company. She is also the founder of baniandchai.com.

The dessert: Roast S’more

Brazilian Coffee and Chocolate Mousse made with with a graham cracker crust, toasted marshmallow, sugar fire flame and a chocolate truffle from Kilwins.

About: This dessert is an elegant take on the classic S’more, but with no mess. It’s a chocolate mousse on a graham cracker crust. On top is a toasted marshmallow, sugar fire flame and a chocolate truffle from Kilwins.

This dessert sets a scene for a perfect summer night around a fire pit.

Editor’s note: It was previously reported that Chef Darwin Rubio of The Tap Room was going to handle the dessert course at Island to Table but Rubio had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict.
