What started with learning about the benefits of guided meditations — while driving in her car — has led to the opening of Tranquility Within, a holistic center in Patchogue.
From the beginning of this journey, says owner Dawn Michelle, it was all about helping others achieve some balance in their lives and feel good — like she was.
“I kept thinking, I want this for other people,” she previously told GreaterPatchogue.
Michelle purchased the framing shop at 64 West Main Street in Patchogue in June of 2015 and got immediately to work on a top-to-bottom rebuild. And she spared no details.
More than two years later, and at over 3,300 square feet, Tranquility Within will feature a gift shop stocked with crystals, jewelry, salt lamps, tarot cards, sand art and more.
Then there’s the spaces for yoga classes, private meditation rooms, holistic healers and seminars, as well as a babysitting room — all opening in January 2018.
“It is better than my dreams,” said Michelle, of Shirley. “The building itself and now the completely setup gift shop are both more beautiful than I ever imagined.
“Definitely worth the wait.”
The gift shop opens at 10 a.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 24.
