T-shirts are now being sold at Thred in Patchogue to raise funds for Pink Aid Long Island, a nonprofit that helps underserved women survive breast cancer treatment.

And the message is as straightforward as it comes.

“Yes these are fake … ” the shirts read across the chest. “My real ones tried to kill me.”

The idea is to raise funds but also awareness for the struggles of so many of our relatives, friends and neighbors, says Thred owner Merav Shiloni.

She was inspired to help by a survivor friend who’s just 23.

“I’m excited to raise money for a charity where I know exactly where the money goes. And I knew I had the platform,” Shiloni said. “I am selling these shirts where 100 percent of the profit will go directly to women who could use the financial help.”

The shirts are selling for $28.75 each online and at the shop at 7 Village Green in Patchogue.
