Patchogue Village’s most prominent vacancy is about to be filled.

Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar, which has about a dozen locations in Pennsylvania and New England, is now headed to West Main Street and North Ocean Avenue at the village’s Four Corners intersection.

Not only that, an Italian restaurant with a location in Huntington also has plans to open next door on West Main Street.

Patchogue Village Trustee Thomas Ferb made the announcement during Monday evening’s Village Board meeting.

Ferb didn’t mention Arooga’s by name, but there’s a digital sign on the New Village at Patchogue complex — where the space is located — publicly welcoming the new business.

Arooga’s website also includes 1 West Main Street in Patchogue as one of 13 current locations listed for the franchise.

Arooga’s bills itself as “an innovative restaurant concept focused on providing value and entertainment for our guests,” according to its website“Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar is changing the way America watches its sporting events.”

“About 8,000 square feet is going to be rented,” by the restaurant, Ferb said at the meeting. “They’re in Mohegan Sun. They’re opening 12 new places and their flagship restaurant is going to be in Patchogue.”

“One door down on Main Street we’re getting a white tablecloth Italian restaurant, [Primo Piatto],” he added. “They’re in Huntington, and I hope they have good bolognese.”

Trustee Lori Devlin then looked up the restaurant’s menu and confirmed bolognese is on it.

Ferb serves as the board’s liaison to the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.

Reached for comment Monday night, the chamber’s executive director, David Kennedy, said the chamber is “very pleased such a vital commercial place is being occupied.”

Kennedy said he hopes filling such a high profile corner space will lead to boutique-style retail shops opening up elsewhere in the $110 million New Village at Patchogue complex, which opened in 2014.
