Dawn Michelle Schultzer had a vision for the old framing shop at 64 West Main Street in Patchogue.
And she wasn’t making any compromises.
“She has persevered for two or three years … so her vision could come through,” said David Kennedy, the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce‘s executive director. “As you can see, her vision has certainly come through.”
Kennedy was speaking at a grand opening Saturday at Tranquility Within.
Described as a holistic healing center, Tranquility Within offers a full suite of services — such as massage, yoga, private meditation, hypnotherapy, nutritional counseling, and much more.
The yoga room measures over 600 square feet with 20-foot ceilings and a vintage skylight. There’s also a child watch room.
“It’s been a really long journey,” said Schultzer, who especially thanked her mom. “I would never have done this without my mom because she was my rock, my emotional support, financial support.”
“There were so many times in the journey when I thought, that’s it, I’m done,” she continued. “And she would say, ‘I believe in you.'”
Schultzer said Tranquility Within’s objective is simple: help people.
“We live in a world where it’s so easy to be stressed out, or have anxiety … I wanted a place for everyone to get a little better, wherever you are in your journey,” she said. “One step better; that’s the objective of Tranquility Within.
“You should walk out feeling better than when you walked in.”
