The much-anticipated opening of Nole Café is upon us.
The juice bar, health food and healthy lifestyle spot on Patchogue’s East Main Street has been a year in the making.
Owners MacKenzie Miller and Bob Venero hosted a soft opening for friends and family Saturday night, and Nole will be fully open to the public starting 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 6.
Nole can seat nearly 60 people, inside and out, to enjoy freshly made juices, smoothies, chopped salads or finely chopped (blended) salads, wraps, acai bowls, poke bowls, espresso drinks, cold brew coffee and more. They even have their own line of supplements.
The signature structure within the open and modern design is the 40-foot long juice bar. The decor is highlighted by a grassy “Nole wall” (see video below).
The storefront is lined with glass doors that fold open, with additional seating outdoors.
“When you sit here and look out, it’s absolutely incredible,” said Miller. “Main Street is such a perfect place. Everything the mayor [Paul Pontieri] has done is so awesome. And since there’s so many bars and restaurants, it seemed being at the bar is comfortable for people so that’s kind of our theme.”
“But health isn’t typically on peoples minds at a bar,” she added. “So here it’s a juice bar, really.”
Miller calls the entire concept a “natural organic life experience.”
Or Nole, for short.
As previously reported, Miller has always been interested in living a healthy lifestyle.
While away at school in Charlotte, N.C., at Belmont Abbey College, she discovered and cultivated her passion for nutrition. She said that by her senior year of school, she knew she needed “to do something along the lines of health. It just made sense for me.”
While earning a bachelor’s degree in business and finance, she also enrolled in a program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, through which she became a certified health and wellness coach.
She is bringing that combination of health and businesses knowledge to her new venture.
There will also be health and wellness coaching available on site.
Miller said that being a health coach, she often found herself also guiding clients on where to eat and what to order. But she noticed few one-stop shops for everything healthy, even to-go juices for cleanses.
“I was always sending them in 10 different directions,” she said. “And I was sick of pushing people away.”
