Greater East End coverage is funded in part by The Watershed Kitchen & Inn, a North Fork destination in South Jamesport featuring elevated comfort food, craft cocktails and boutique accommodations.
Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo has bought a sprawling waterfront estate on the East End.
Cuomo dropped $9.6 million for Seatuck Lodge in Remsenburg, a historic bayfront compound that comes with a private beach, a dock, a boathouse, a guest house, a pool, a tennis court and a restored windmill, according to reports.
The sale closed in June, Bloomberg News reported, citing Multiple Listing Service records.
The main house once served as a hunting lodge and now has nine bedrooms and nine and a half bathrooms. There’s also a four-bedroom guest house, a saltwater pool and a five-car garage on the property, along with more than 230 feet of frontage on the water, The Real Deal reported,
The home also boasts a gym and a wine cellar.
The 7.35-acre property includes three adjacent lots totaling just over 3 acres. The parcels were listed together for $17.5 million in 2022, Behind The Hedges reported. The asking price had dropped to $11.9 million by August 2025 and then to $10.9 million in March.
Cuomo’s price came in roughly $1.3 million below what the sellers paid about a decade ago.
Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi confirmed the purchase, telling The New York Times that Cuomo plans to sell the vacant lots and use the residence as a summer home. He said Cuomo will keep his New York City apartment, and that the Remsenburg home will allow him more opportunities to spend time with siblings who also own homes in the area, including broadcaster Chris Cuomo.
Chris Cuomo has a home in East Hampton, and sister Madeline Cuomo owns one in East Quogue.
Cuomo resigned as governor in 2021 and lost the 2025 New York City mayoral election to Zohran Mamdani.
He has since moved into the cryptocurrency industry, joining the board of the exchange OKX and co-chairing a digital finance venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent of the New York Stock Exchange.
