A Syosset teen who fatally stabbed a 15-year-old boy at a crowded West Babylon house party was sentenced Wednesday to 12 years in prison.
Aiden Zachary, 18, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree manslaughter. The victim, Liam Delemo, 15, of West Babylon, was killed about 10 p.m. on the night before Election Day in November 2025 at a party on Carlton Road attended by some 100 teenagers, according to prosecutors and police.
Zachary, then 17, and two friends from Syosset went to the party without an invitation, prosecutors said. After Delemo and other West Babylon teens told them to leave, Zachary got into an altercation with Delemo, pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen and arm, then fled, prosecutors said.
Delemo was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead. Zachary was arrested six days later and was initially charged with second-degree murder. He pleaded down to manslaughter in October.
“This case is nothing short of tragic,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said. “The defendant’s violent behavior will follow him and affect the lives of multiple families, long after his sentence is served.”
