Bang Bang Burritos opens in Wantagh with 2 more LI spots on the way

|

Mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers inside a burrito? Bring your appetite, Wantagh.

Bang Bang Burritos has opened its fourth location in Wantagh Plaza on Wantagh Avenue, taking over the former Friendly Cards & Gifts storefront.

The menu covers made-to-order burritos, tacos, quesadillas, rice bowls and nachos, with protein choices including chicken, buffalo chicken, shrimp, ground beef and steak.

For customers who need help narrowing it down, manager Pamela Lepine has a question of her own.

“I don’t ask what they are in the mood for,” she told Greater Long Island. “I ask them, ‘Do you want what the younger generations love or what I would want right now?'”

Those with a bigger appetite might consider The Team, a burrito stuffed with mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, potatoes, bacon, cheese, sour cream and Bang Bang sauce.

“It’s so good, but bring your appetite,” Lepine said. “It’s so fun to eat.”

Her personal favorites include the fajita burrito and the All-American, which combines steak, french fries, bacon and cheese.

“I always order it lighter on the French fries so I feel better about myself,” she joked.

More than the menu

Lepine hopes customers will stick around and get to know the people behind the counter.

“We are excited for you to not only eat our food, but to enjoy the vibe,” she said. “We don’t want you to think of us as a place where we are just serving you food. We want to get to know everybody, and we want you to feel welcome.”

Founded in 2019 by brothers Frank and Joseph Carbone, along with Barbara Pagliarulo, Bang Bang Burritos started in West Islip and also has locations in Manhasset and Bay Shore.

The company plans to add locations in Melville and Oceanside in spring 2027.
