Downpours cancel Barkfest pet costume parade in Stony Brook

The rain has claimed another pet parade in the Greater Port Jeff coverage area.

First, it was announced that the pet parade and other Harvest Fest features in Port Jefferson was cancelled.

Now, Barkfest is cancelled too.

Barkfest, which was being billed as the county’s largest pet parade, was supposed to happen today, Oct. 29, at the Holiday Inn Express in Stony Brook.

The event was sponsored by Suffolk County SPCA and Save-A-Pet.

There is no rain date, the organizers said.
