Seatuck’s 2020 Eco-Carnival, Long Island’s premier Earth Day celebration, will take place live on Facebook on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event, which this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, will be presented in partnership with Nassau County, Suffolk County and the Town of Islip.
It will feature hands-on nature explorations, nature-based games, live music, a live animal show and fun, outdoor activities for children of all ages.
“We’re excited to offer a stay-at-home, social-distancing-friendly celebration of Earth Day and the natural world,” said Enrico Nardone, Seatuck’s executive director. “Our staff and volunteers have planned a day of fun-filled activities for the whole family to enjoy.”
Live programs, led by noted Long Island naturalists and leading entertainers, will be presented hourly throughout the day. Presentations will include Neighborhood Birds, Pond Exploration, Insects Adventure and Bird Bingo, among others.
Live music performances and at-home nature activities for children will also be part of the event.
