Workers busy renovating the shuttered Ruby Tuesday on the Sunrise Highway service road in Sayville said the building’s restaurant days are over.
The hardhats said the structure at 5650 Sunrise Hwy. is being retrofitted to accommodate a new Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology facility. It would be Long Island’s 26th ZP location.
Sayville said good-bye Ruby Tuesday in 2016, leaving the structure – located near Bowlero Sayville – vacant ever since. Only the tall Ruby Tuesday sign outside is a reminder of what used to be. There are two Ruby Tuesday restaurants left on Long Island — in Medford and Westbury.
A Ground Round called the Sayville building home for decades, before closing in the 2000s. Long Island’s one remaining Ground Round continues to thrive at 2647 Montauk Hwy. in Brookhaven.
Zwanger-Pesiri prides itself for combining the latest in medical imaging, specialized radiologists and a patient-centric experience. We called ZP for more information, but didn’t hear back yet.
