After 16 years of service, the ShopRite of West Babylon is closing its store on Oct. 10, a manager confirmed to greaterbabylon.com.
Effective Sept. 19, the new store hours for the West Babylon location are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and this ShopRite will no longer be issuing rainchecks.
Customers can shop at the Buonadonna family’s two other locations at 5508 Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore and 1905 Sunrise Highway in Massapequa.
“We appreciate the loyalty of our customers and the dedication of our associates who have worked hard to serve the community,” said Karen O’Shea, spokesperson for ShopRite.
“We will provide associates the opportunity to transfer to positions in other nearby ShopRite stores.”
O’Shea said the West Babylon ShopRite struggled to reach a sufficient sales level to make the store profitable, which led to the difficult decision to close.
