Babylon’s night of holiday shopping happens right in the village

|

The Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce has prepared a festive night of holiday shopping and fun.

On Friday, Dec. 3, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Deer Park Avenue will be shut down from Main Street to Park Avenue for Babylon Village’s Old Fashioned Christmas night of shopping event.

People can roam around the street while shopping and dining at Babylon Village’s local businesses, while also enjoying many holiday-themed activities throughout the night.

“We are so thrilled to be able to hold this wonderful, festive event after having to cancel last year,” said Kelly Peckholdt, Babylon Village Chamber president. “We are also so grateful to the Town of Babylon, who, through their Direct Support Program, provided the chamber with grant money that allowed us to fully sponsor this event and all the activities we have planned, rather than having to pass costs on to our member businesses.”

These activities include photos with Santa in front of Fitness Incentive (157 Deer Park Ave.), carousel-riding in the Monsoon parking lot, meeting some Disney princesses and watching holiday classics on a big movie screen.

Positions Dance Studio (264 Deer Park Ave.) plans to hold performances of excerpts from the Nutcracker.

Also make sure to stop by the Nathaniel Conklin House (280 Deer Park Ave.) for Christmas at the Conklin House, where there will be hot cocoa, popcorn, and a live performance by the Babylon High School Chamber Orchestra.

Babylon Village merchants and restaurants will have shopping specials and holiday treats all night long.

“We cannot wait to kick off the holiday season with the community,” Peckholdt said.
