Just in time for the holidays, an East Patchogue doctor has introduced an in-office medical treatment to help women enjoy sex more.
Dr. Diana Leon, an OBGYN whose office is located at 285 Sills Road in East Patchogue, offers the non-invasive sexual health treatment, Cliovana, to help women improve their sexual responsiveness. Cliovana employs soundwave technology to jumpstart the growth of new blood vessels and nerve endings in the clitoris.
“So many women don’t orgasm and enjoy a full sex life and are embarrassed to address it. (They) are worried that there is no solution — or that the solution involves an invasive procedure,” said Leon, who specializes in providing care for women in all stages of life. “Cliovana uses soundwaves to change that in just a few simple sessions, making sex more enjoyable, less painful and improving orgasm frequency – and intensity.”
Leon provides the 10-minute process at Three Village Women’s Health offices in East Patchogue and East Setauket.
Here’s how it works:
• Step 1: Cupping, which provides a mild pulsing suction that draws the blood to the surface in preparation for soundwave treatment.
• Step 2: Acoustic sound waves are transmitted through one of the two transmitter heads. This enhances revascularization and neurogenesis of the patient’s clitoris.
• Step 3: The second transmitter head uses a combination of vibration and sound waves to help calm the area and allow it to take in the full effect of the treatment.
For optimal results, the session is done four times over a two-week period.
The doctor reported that the benefits are often realized immediately, and that the effects intensify over three months. The increase in the patient’s sexual responsiveness and intensity lasts a year or more, and can be sustained with an annual revitalization session of two 10-minute treatments, the doctor said.
The Cleveland Clinic reported last year that sexual dysfunction affects about 30% to 40% of women.
The most common problems related to sexual dysfunction include inability to reach an orgasm, pain during sex, low libido and difficulty becoming aroused, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
