The Argyle Theatre’s last production of the 2018-19 season is playing now.
The Producers debuted at the Babylon Village Playhouse on March 14 and runs until April 20.
“The show is comedic brilliance,” explained Dylan Perlman, co-owner of the Argyle Theatre. “We couldn’t be more proud of a production to close out our first mainstage season.”
The Mel Brook’s musical, a Tony-award winner, follows the story of a once-successful Broadway producer who is in a rut. His accountant tallied the numbers from his recent failed show, where the producer realizes he can make more money by making flops and over-selling them.
“It is non-stop entertainment and laughs,” said Perlman.
And he isn’t the only one to agree.
“Was an amazing show had the best time,” one Facebooker named Melissa Ann reviewed. “Everyone was truly talented!”
“Awesome play, haven’t laughed so much in years, go see it,” added another commenter, Suzanne Ridulfo Sarrapede.
