This rapidly expanding national salad chain that three Georgetown grads started in 2006 has just opened its third Long Island location.
Sweetgreen at the Walt Whitman Mall opened Tuesday, Aug. 15. The other two Long Island locations are both in Nassau: Woodbury and Garden City.
To mark Tuesday’s occasion, Sweetgreen, which now counts over 150 locations across the U.S., rewarded its first 100 customers with some Hu Chocolate as a gift with purchase. And for every opening day meal sold, Sweetgreen has pledged to donate a meal to Island Harvest.
The nearly 3,000-square-foot location has room for 24 diners inside at banquettes and the bar counter, along with 14 outdoor diners on an expansive patio, a company representative said. Store hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
