The 10-time Tony Award nominee play, The Full Monty, has hit the stage at Babylon Village’s Argyle Theatre.
The show, which is based on the cult hit film with the same name, debuted at the South Shore playhouse on Thursday, Sept 12— the same day as summer’s last Babylon Block Party. It will run until Oct. 20.
The story follows a group of unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo who decide to spy on their wives during their “Girls Night Out.” After catching their wives watching male strippers, the men—feeling emasculated and broke— decide to give stripping a go for themselves.
“The Full Monty is an energetic, heart-warming, musical comedy masterpiece,” said Argyle Theatre’s co-owner, Dylan Perlman. “You can’t help but smile, can’t help but root for these relatable characters, and will be singing the tunes for days!”
The upbeat comedy runs 2 hours and 45 minutes, and it is for ages 16 and up.
